New World Screw Worms and Travel Restrictions

New World Screwworms (NWS) have crashed on the scene of our animal world (all mammals), having entered the USA predominately in the Southwest area having scattered infestation predominately from Central Arizona and Mexico. A quick Google search can tell you all the technical information you need, but the main info you need is that you cannot travel with your horse into or out of that area without a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI), previously known as a Health Certificate.

Various states have varying timelines that are constantly changing, some as current as 5 days. You must be compliant with regulations that may be different before when you depart for your trip, when you return. These regulations are non-bending so research before you depart and please realize that a CVI does include actual inspection!!!

We have had clients with their horse actually sitting on the side of the Interstate within checkpoints waiting for inspectors to make them compliant.

The regulations that we must abive by are sent to us on a day-by-day basis and can become outdated at the sending of an official email.
